September 2007 | Recruitment drive of former soldiers

This year for the first time Eurowings line maintenance took part in the 3rd Jobs and Training Fair organised by the Federal Support Service for Former Soldiers (BFD), which took place in Berlin on the 11th September 2007. The overriding aim was to offer information to short-service volunteers from the federal armed forces on the attractive professional prospects within Eurowings’ technical department after their period of service. The Eurowings stand drew a lot of attention and was at times mobbed by interested applicants. Mario Hess, line maintenance manager, and Thorsten Ortmann, assistant station director in Düsseldorf, patiently answered a wide range of questions on training and career prospects at Eurowings.

To attract peoples’ attention we set up the original landing gear of an ATR aircraft at the stand, which the Nuremberg centre had very kindly put at our disposal. The stand thus had useful information on offer as well as some actual technology to touch. Nearby there was a large screen showing a maintenance video on Airbus. Our team was thus able to present Eurowings as an airline and also offer an insight into the high standards of Eurowings technology.
